We celebrated James' 6th birthday on tuesday. We took him our for dinner to Montana's. He is having a costume Halloween party on October 24th with his friends...I think 13 lol...yikes.
Should be fun, I am planning on the fun and games now!
James has also been on his team for a week or so. He loves it. He is skating very well, he just gets puck shy I think lol. Too much pressure when you are in a game to perform, he misses the puck lol. too cute. I am sure we will see major changes to his game, as he is on the ice sometimes 5 times a week!!! I LOVE watching, so my thing :) Liam does too ;)
I have been busy on the PAC at the school. Just did my first newsletter that will be going home with all the kids today :)
I am also going to start planning for a school spring carnival! My idea, and I want to make it happen lol. I loved them as a kid, and want my kids to have them too :) So yes VERY busy mom, some days I swear I am out all day or cleaning up in the kitchen!!!

Back to school

The kids just finished their first week back in school.
They are both loving it, and James says full days at school are "awesome". :)
They are not yet in their permanent classrooms, that comes tomorrow. The school has to verify enrolment and all that before they put them in their classes for the rest of the year. Right now they are just places alphabetically.
I have to say I love having them both in school. That annoying half day kindergarten really limits what you can do in a day!!
Liam does way better on a schedule as well. His naps go after morning drop off and after school pick up, so it works great!
He also has been treating me to some real sleep lately lol. He went 730-5 the last 2 nights. I dont expect it to last but I will take it for now haha.

James started try outs for hockey today. I saw the man sitting with his paper scoring them on different things. They have to do this to make sure all the teams are even with skilled players.
I have to say I was nervous that James was going to be one of the weaker ones, because he was when he did his summer camp (he was in an advanced class with kids who had played a year of hockey already), but boy did he surprise me!
He did awesome. He was a strong one!! I guess being with the advanced kids really worked for him!!!
I loved watching him, I cant wait until he is on his team and playing :) :) :)

Arianna has started figure skating. She is having a ball. She has lots to learn, but it will be nice to watch her progression as well!!

Liam is 8 months and still not moving lol. He just sits and reaches lol. Well, he can move, in a circle!! He has no desire to crawl. he makes no attempt even close to it lol. He actually hates being on his tummy. He prefers being upright, jumping, standing or walking in his walker. (backwards only still too lol)

hmmmm. that is about all that is new here :)

Where has summer gone??
I have to say this was the busiest summer for us in a long time. We did too much lol.
We just finished a week of hockey camp with James.
Now, it's time to get ready for the school year and all the after school activities we are doing. We have something every day after school!!!
I have been sick for the last 2 weeks. I had a brutal sinus infection. Liam ended up with something that was giving him fevers and making him miserable.
So, its been a long couple weeks.
I am still not 100% and I think my body is having a tough time recovering due to stress. There has been a lot of it here, and I don't see it getting better any time soon. I just need to find some way to cope and handle it...or else lol.
Nothing big planned for the last week. Just trying to get the kids to bead earlier and up earlier lol. Even Liam is used to sleeping in. Today we started the change. Maybe he will even go to bed earlier for me lol.

Summer at an end

Only a few more weeks and we are back to school!

wow this was one busy summer for us. we did so much travelling. All went great and we had a blast though.

Arianna is now 7. Turning into quite the little lady! we spent her birthday weekend in Penticton.

Liam is doing well. Sitting up on his own well. and now has started walking when you hold his hands. He is no where near crawling, part of me wonders if he will ever crawl, and will be an early walker...hmmm my brothers walked between 9 and 10 months.

James is starting hockey camp next week. Get him ready for the fall hockey season :)

-I have been super sick. I am in need of some catch up sleep.

Family Vacation

We are in Brockville Ontario right now visiting my husbands family. The time difference is 3 hrs ahead of home. It did not take the kids and I long to adjust, thank goodness, but I am sure going home it will be a nightmare lol.
Liam has not been sleeping the best....making for one tired mommy.
I think he is teething now too, which does not help.
I can't really blame him. He is not is his bed, his schedule is off by a few hours and there is so much so see here lol.
The weather has been nice. The first couple days were cool, followed by gross humidity, then a hot one. I love the heat.
Especially when there is an inground pool right in the back yard!
The big kids are spending hours in the pool a day. They love it. And I think now hubby has decided he wants a pool now too ;)
It is so nice to see the cousins. The kids are loving it, as they are all close in age. SO fun. It really is sad we are so far away.
AND that is is SO expensive to come out east. Something we cant do often sadly :(
I am enjoying having others help with Liam. But, now he likes to cry when mommy leaves the room. nice. lol
we were treated to a boat cruise around the thousand islands. It was beautiful...and sad that we could buy and island with a cottage for the price of our BC house lol.
we would love to one day be living on the waterfront.
we are headed to new york tomorrow to do some shopping then up to ottawa the next day.
the trip is going by way tooooo fast and we will all be so sad to leave.
well, better get back to the family :)

Another school year over

James has just graduated from Kindergarten :D I am so happy lol. No more half days. Just because it is hard to keep going back and forth to the school. Poor Liam has crazy naps. No consistency with this third baby.
We just returned from a 4 day trip to Edmonton. We went for my cousins wedding. It was an awesome getaway. I miss being close to my family there. It was hot and sunny....not like the weather here has been!
The wedding was beautiful Arianna is our little dancing queen.
Liam did great. The plane ride was only an hour and a half. Our upcoming trip to Ontario will be more challenging I am sure. I dont want to be that parent with the screaming baby the whole time. eeeek,
Plans for summer....

Like I said, Ontario trip if a few weeks.
Figure skating camp for Arianna in July.
Hockey camp for James in August.
Weekend trip to Peachfest in Pentiction the weekend of Ariannas birthday.

Otherwise, beach trips if the weather decides to turn to summer some time soon!!!

James and Liam are being baptized on July 4th....finally.

I joined the schools PAC next year...I am on the executive as Secretary.

Liam will be starting veggies as soon as I cook the carrots lol....I do all my own food.
He is sleeping WAY better...up 1-2 times from 9-7.
Happier during the day, but still loves to nurse on demand.
Rolling one way....he is slow at moving compared the others...because he hates being put down. I hate that!!!
He loves his jumpers...thank goodness for those.
He is 6 months old in a week. Can he start crawling please LOL.

Arianna has excelled in school. Very good at reading and math.
James started to decline when Liam came around. SO sad. I hope for grade one he will be back at his well bahaved, good mannered little boy again. :( Middle child syndrome, no longer the baby....enough said. It's not his fault. it will get better.

it is still busy here for me. my little man still demands my constant attention lol. I am happy he is getting bigger, give me a baby at 6 months id be happy lol. he is eating cereal now and loves it. cant get enough! I will try and write more later as he is on the boob now and I am typing one handed lol.

House of Sick

James is the culprit who always brings home the bugs from school. And of course it makes its rounds. This time he has been sick on and off for a month. The worst being this cough that would not go away. So off to the drs we went. He is now on an inhaler and antibiotics to clear things up. Liam and I have got a touch of it. Mine remains a bit in my chest and Liam still is snotty.

He is doing well. Much happier thank goodness. His favourite thing to do still is eat lol. He is 12.5 pounds and growing well. Dr says he is very strong with excellent head control for 3 months...no more floppy head :) He sleeps on and off well. We will have some nights where he will sleep awesome then as soon as I share he goes back to not sleeping lol. So I have decided not to share when he blesses me with 6 hrs or more lol.

James is loving hockey and so am I! Liam does great when we go watch. James will start real hockey in september. Arianna is getting better at skating as well.

We booked a vacation for next march. Long time away, but at least it is something to look forward to. We are going with some friends from edmonton (and a bunch of their friends and moms). We are hitting the high seas for another cruise :) And I hope we can do disneyworld first!!

Nice weather is here, and I am looking forward to school being out lol. Only a couple more months! Hopefully we will get to do some fun things this summer.

Nap time is about over...laundry is calling....and kindergarten is about over.

8 weeks

Liam is now 8 weeks. And they have been some of the hardest of my life lol.
BUT, I am happy to say things are getting better.
slowly he is becoming happier and less work lol.
It helps to have the kids and Brandon to help when he is fussy for sure.
He does the same routine almost every night...sleeps 4 hrs, 3hrs, 2 hrs...so funny.
For 8 weeks old and breastfed thats not TOOO bad lol.
But again, over time I am sure it will get longer.
He is growing like crazy. He has his shots next week, so we will see how big he is. He is in 3-6 months clothes and has been for awhile. My others were no where near his size!
Spring break is here. 2 weeks this year.
The first week I am on my own, but the second Brandon is off. Will be nice to be all home.
I am not sure how I will entertain the big kids while he is working!
So spring is almost here...and things are looking up.

Rough start

Since Liam's birth, he has been in hospital for 2 sets of antibiotics. he was in the NICU 5 days from and infection, and just last week was in for an absess. I am so tired of being in the hospital.
And my poor little guy has been through enough!
Liam is a tough baby. Once again, he has gas/colic issues which makes it hard.
All he wants to do for comfort is nurse. And he cries a lot.
So things are not so easy around here.
we were blessed having my mil stay with us for a month and help out. I have no idea what we would have done without her.
Brandon has this week off, then next week I am on my own. I am scared!!! lol
I wish he was a content baby.
Oh well, with time he will get better.
we are trying everything for him...chiropractor, medications, and today I am taking him to a naturopath. I just want to try all I can to make him happier.
Sorry for the lack of posts, but as you hear things are not easy.

And Yes I am nervous!
Sleeping is bad enough, but now my mind is racing!
I am so happy I will have help for the month of January, but after that I am scared lol.
Oh well, I will just need to take it as it comes and do the best I can.
I am ready to have baby out of me, and get my body back! One that does not hurt so much.

Brandon as been great the last couple of days. he has been stay at home dad...lol
he says he does not know how I do it, but he is doing great.
AND I think the kids listen to him better! hehe I guess they like having him around :D I won't take offense ;)

Today I am going to cook up a few meals for the freezer to help out. I will be in hospital a few days and MIL will just be getting settled...
it's either that or take out every night lol.

Well wish us luck with arrival number 3. I pray all goes smoothly! I can't wait to see if I was right with my gut feeling on this being a little girl...or so wrong and it be a boy lol.

Happy New Year!
For us, the beginning will mark the third baby to our family. Only 6 more days to go.
I soooo want the baby out.
I have never made it this far in a pregnancy and I HURT.
I get maybe 5 hrs of sleep broken a night....I would rather have a baby here being the reason for the lack of sleep lol.
I have been having more contractions on and off. But, that could last days. I would just prefer to deliver on the 7th to have my OB.
So 6 more days it is!!

We had a very quiet new years eve at home...heck I was the only one awake at midnight lol.
Tonight the kids are spending the night at grandmas and we are going for dinner and a movie. Last chance to get out!

Brandon and I bought (finally) stuff for our home gym. Of course my new years resolution will be to lose this baby weight! So, I requested a treadmill, as I did lots of running before to lose the weight....I still hate running, lol. but will do what works ;)
Brandon wanted one of those total gym things...lol...weight system that does it all. so we found a super deal on both, (nice treadmill like the gym has!)and they will be arriving in a couple weeks.
we need to move around our office to make room for it all, but its worth it. home gym and sauna will do me wonders :)
guess the hot tub will be waiting yet one more year ;)

Well we are just about a week and a half away from meeting our new addition. I have to say I am really nervous. It has been over 5 years since we have had a baby in the house. I am so ready to have the baby out of me though. the last few weeks have been agony. lol
I am so sore in the hips, its crazy.
Of course I am beyond exhausted all the time.
But, you know me, I am still doing the cleaning and cooking lol.
Brandon has one more day then is off for a few weeks. thank goodness.
and we are lucky to have my mother in law coming for 4 weeks too. I will be so thankful to have someone to manage those two lol.
we have activities that resume in January and I think the first few weeks would be hard to manage!
we had a wonderful christmas. the kids were spoiled as usual, but not over the top! Arianna got a gorgeous doll house and James hockey net and sticks.
they were so happy!
I was spoiled with a lovely angel white gold necklace and earrings set from peoples (Brandons store lol) and a coach purse! I LOVE the model he picked, but the color not so much...sorry hun!
I am going to exchange for something more neutral.
still, I am so impressed he went to a purse store for me hehe.
We have no big plans for new years eve of course....
going to try and get out for dinner and movie soon, before baby. we got some gift certificates for christmas.

It's Christmas eve, 2 weeks today and baby number 3 will be making his or her appearance!
It has gone by so fast, and I am sure the next 2 weeks will be the same.
I will be happy when it's over for sure.
It just hurts lol.
I am heading with the kids to spend a couple nights at my parents.
Brandon will join us when he can, but is working until the 29th...then 3 weeks off :)

We had our first snow fall yesterday and are expecting about 15 cm tonight before the rain returns. It will be nice if we can get a snow day out of it and no school ;)
we had a snowy christmas last year, I am wondering now if we are in for the same!
I just hope it is not as much, as last year we got stuck at my parents!!

One more week of school, then we get a couple off.
this just means we are that much closer to having this baby.
25 more days.
wow.
Am I ready.

Mentally that is ;)

But I have to admit my body wants it out. I just hurt. I am big and can't move well.
I am ready to have my body back thats for sure!
But I will enjoy the last few weeks feeling he or she squirm around :D

Arianna went to a birthday this weekend at a rock climbing place.
And I have to say she did amazing. She was one of the best there for sure.
she was climing to the top!
no fear for her.
And doing all this with her little hand! How amazing!

Last skating lesson tonight for James. It is family skate night. Arianna and uncle natchy will go with him, as of course I cannot and Brandon is working.

I will be 29 for a few years ;)
I have to say this number is not a nice one lol.
I had a nice dinner out with my family last night...the kids behaved as we went to the olive garden...so that was a treat ;)
I was spoiled with a GPS from brandon. the kids got me an apron...for all the cooking I do, can you believe I do not own one?! Many a spill on my shirts and you think I would invest lol.
well now I can wear my "super mom" apron proudly :D

We have a busy day here, which is why we celebrated last night. After school we are going to pick up Ariannas prosthetic. She is getting a little device to help her do a few things.
The guy who designed it created it unique for her...I tell you he has to be an artist as he created pieces just for each person and their needs :)
She is so excited. It is going to be pink ;) lol
it should help her do monkey bars, hold a skipping rope and maybe even a pencil on that side :)
I will post some pics later :)

then it is dance class and beavers tonight....

well Happy 29th to be...it will be a great one I am sure...first starting with our new additions arrival :D

2 more days and I am 29. I really do not like that number. Its too close to 30 lol.
I am feeling ok.
Well, I am feeling huge and am disgusted with how big the baby has gotten me again. I look at my pics from just before I got pregnant and I was skinny.
I worked my butt off!
And for what?! lol to get pregnant and have to start all over again.
I am super frustrated by this, but with 5 weeks to go what can I really do...nothing.
I cannot control the weight gain. I did not eat bad or like a pig, I just get big.
Oh well I have my work cut out for me again.
But seeing what I can look like is motivation to do it again!
By summer lets see how far I can get!!!!!!!!
I am asking for a treadmill in the new year, well after 6 weeks postpartum.
I figure rain will make me less motivated.

I am tired too. It just seems like the last few days have pushed me over the edge. I cannot breathe, it hurts to put on my shoes and I get strong braxton hicks.
brandon says I am doing too much....but tell me how I stop lol.
kids are in activities during the week and I like a clean house lol....
maybe I will hire my old nanny to clean mid december again for me...to do the deep stuff!

well off to make my house look like christmas :D

Had a follow up with my Dr. today.
All is well :)
My urine was good today! YAY cause if it was not that would have meant more blood work and who knows what else.
I feel good.
I do not want an early baby!
My dr is away the last 2 weeks of december. SO if this baby comes early, it wont be him delivering me.
that kinda sucks!
SO I hope that I do make it to my scheduled date of Jan 8. He will be there.
AND I really want a January baby.
So here is hoping all goes well!!!
I have another ultrasound next friday just to check on things.

I am trying to get christmas shopping done early this year. I dont want to be 9 months pregnant battling with mall shoppers lol.
I got most of the out of town presents bought, so that is great.
we know what the kids are getting.
so it will just be shopping for brandon.
now that is progress!

I got my new camera! YAY!
I have yet to play with it, been a bit too busy here lately.
Will try soon and get some pictures from it, see how well it does.

One Down, One more to go

Arianna is over the flu. Yay!
And I am just a bit stuffy but the tamiflu I took kept me from getting worse.
James is still a couple days away from being better, after all this one lasted a week.
Arianna will go back to school for the morning tomorrow (we have our shots tomorrow at 1140) and tuesday.
No school this week wed, pro d days thurs and friday. James should be better by next week ;)
I am just sore.
I find doing too much house stuff makes my back just ache.
So, I am hiring Rose, our old nanny to help out with the bathroom cleaning and floors. She is coming on wednesday.
I can handle most of it, but the bending is too much!
I am doing physio for my tilted pelvis problem (I literally lean to the right) and also prenatal massage.
I was trying to go 2 weeks between massages but I do not think I can lol.
Our coverage is not that great, but for my comfort I need to suck it up and pay hehe.

We are looking for a new camera. Good thing my birthday is a couple weeks away lol. Just in time!!
I want something decent, that takes good action shots. Our last camera was terrible.
I want a higher quality one with good zoom. so we will see what we can find.

I bought some newborn diapers yesterday...awww it is all becoming SO real :)
I have my list of things we still need and am slowly getting ready.

I painted another picture for the baby room...looks cute :) But, I cant show you, no camera lol....
I will post nursery pics when we get a new camera and the room is done ;)

well I am on day 4 of brandon working evenings...just me and the kids. they are making hats with our crafts stuff. I put together some drawers for them with everything they need. it works out nice :)

Drs Visit

Well, he says its the H1N1, which we figured. we have all the symptoms.
Arianna is on day 6, still fevers, cough, sore throat.
No vomitting, that was just once.
James day 3, fevers, cough, sore throat and DOUBLE ear infection. he is on antibiotics.
Arianna is fighting it great on her own. her color is good, no breathing issues.
the longer she fights it, the more immune she will be.
Me, I started tamiflu so I dont get more then just this head cold. I feel it getting worse, but no fevers yet. I did vomit this morning. took the first dose of tamiflu, lets hope it helps!!

So, here we are few weeks into flu season and we get it!!
dr said to make sure to get the shot. we are scheduled to get it monday. hopefully all is well by then!!!
brandon somehow has stayed healthy lol...
he was off 2 days thank goodness, so I could rest.
but back to work today. its going to be a long weekend.
the kids are out of school until at least tuesday.

just thought i would give an update.

oh yes, my camera has broken. there will be no pictures :( until we get a new one. so sad.

The Flu has Set in

We will not know if it is the H1N1 unless we get swabbed.
But, whatever this is, it has taken Arianna out of school for the week with fevers. I can control them with medication, but I am getting worried because its day 4 with them.
I am reading on the healthbc website on when to take them in...and the lasting fever may be a concern.
James got it yesterday.
both kids have only thrown up once each
the fevers, cough and sore throat are the worst.
I am watching for more signs of respiratory distress before I freak out lol.
they will both be home until next week for sure.
And of course, I have the cold part of it. my head is so congested. no fever yet. Just feel sick.
I pray the fever stays away from me.
This really sucks!
None of us have the flu shot, I booked us in to see my doctor on monday.
none of this waiting hours in a line up with sick people lol.
But, we seem to get sick A LOT
and even if this is not the H1N1 flu season is long from over, I need to feel more protected.
especially with this baby :)

I am liking this date, as Arianna was born on the 8th as well! (August)
This is if all goes well....
and I am nervous it won't as my BP has been an issue.
Although, today it was perfect 120/75!!
BUT I have protein in my urine now....
so I see him again in 2 weeks, will get more blood work and to see if this becomes dangerous for the pregnancy.
I am really praying not to have a premature baby. I am so scared of that.
I will have another ultrasound November 27th.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that baby is able to stay put until January!!!!
Otherwise, baby is healthy :)

Unlike Arianna, who is on day 3 of the flu...she has fevers, cough and sore throat now. Vomitting is over. Poor things
I am scared to get this as well.
We have not been vaccinated. I was waiting for the pregnancy safe one.
And now it seems they are running low everywhere anyways!!
My OB said its best to stay away from the clinics anyways as all the sick people will be there.
So I am not sure what to do......:s

We made a trip to the pumpkin patch with my mom one weekend. It was beautiful! It was the first weekend it was open, so many to choose from!

We had a halloween party at the house, with 10 kids. It went great. The kids painted pumpkins, made candy necklaces, finger puppets, decorated cookies, hit a pinata and played games. But boy was it hard work!
I made the cake, my best work if I do say so lol...but I am no baker, and do not really enjoy it ;)

I was adjusting my baby ticker as I was told the baby will be coming the week of Jan 3rd. I will get my booked c-section date next visit I think, but wow, if he or she comes on the third that means ten weeks to go! Ahhhh!

Wow. This one has been hard, as he is no longer little...
he is a big, school boy.
My baby.
We had a family gathering for thanksgiving to celebrate James' birthday on sunday. He is havinghis kids party next weekend. We are doing a halloween party. Costumes and everything.
Should be fun.
He is having school friends. He has just known them not even a couple months...but a good way to get to know them better.
James is still into his hot wheels cars....and lego. So that is what he got for his big day. He is also really excited he got some money from the grandma's, so he can go pick some stuff out himself.

We went to the pumpkin patch this weekend. It had just opened. We took a hay ride down. The kids had a blast picking their pumpkins. And, wow were some of the ones in the field HUGE. Guess we had a nice summer.

It has been cool here lately. The rain has come just today after many days of sun.
I think fall has begun :(

Baby is still doing well. A big mover and shaker all the time.
I am getting scared how fast time is going. I have less then 12 weeks. I will know when the c-section will be done next dr. appt. But, should be anytime around Jan 3rd.
The kids room is done! I just painted the clouds yesterday.
They are ready to move back in to new wood floors, sky lights and painted walls. It looks awesome,
We just need a few pieces of furniture to be delivered.
Then its time to get the baby room ready and set up, so I don't feel so unready!

I have some pictures on the camera to upload.
I am cooking turkey today (had a small one) and Brandon missed out on it...well the good stuffing at least. :)

I am taking James to practice ice skating with his uncle today. And I have to say after 5 lessons, is is getting so good! I was so proud last night on how fast he is going.
Of course, still many falls....but is a tough cookies.

Since being back in school the kids have brought home 2 different colds now. The one they have this weekend comes along with a killer cough. they sound like barking seals.
I was lucky to stay up with James from 3-4 am last night...the cough would not stop!
I am happy we have a pro-d day here today. One more day to get better.
If not, I think I may need to keep them home another day. the cough is bad!
We made it through our first full busy week.
Arianna started hip hop class. She had fun. It is at a local community center, so nothing too fancy. I think she will be switching to ice skating in the new year anyways...but it's cute to see.
I finally found my baby stroller! Yay. I wanted the most compact one I could find as my mazda 5 trunk is tiny. Well, this one fits.
It was a higher model then the one I looked at first, but the perks of it were better.
I can switch the baby around to be facing me...great for when they are little!
I will post a pic of my new cadillac :D
A quiet day here for us, as the kids recover. Guess I will clean....

Big and Bigger....

Yes, that is me. Some how I once again ballooned in size. Around 6 weeks bigger to be exact.
Yes, I swear there is no more room for my uterus to grow up...just out.
I have NO idea why I get so big...it is kind of frustrating.
I walk all the time now, and eat way less, yet still seem to pack it on.
I am over the 20 pd mark....sigh.
Dr. said it was right for where I am...but still. I see the end and this being a 40 pd pregnancy and that bothers me.
I swear to you this is a girl lol...it has to be with this expanding. with James I gained 22 thats it!!!
oh well we will wait and see.
I am getting another ultrasound, booked for Oct 7. I have to admit I love getting all the ultrasounds to see this baby. This will be number 3 so far! They are just checking to see baby size.
My BP has creeped up again to 145/95. So we watch for signs of trouble.
I have some extra fluid and swelling but nothing too bad.
I will end up with high BP forever now I am sure...:( thanks dad ;)

Kids are doing great in school. They are both gone in the mornings now...yay me. I get quiet all alone time :D
We had our first busy week, and next week gets just a little busier.
James did his first ice skating class....loved it....it was so fun to watch! I think once Arianna is done hip hop dance class she will start ice skating too. That will be January.
Arianna started church school as she calls it. She is learning prayers first. She is in the same class as her friend from school (they will also dance together). It is nice cause we can share the driving!
James started beavers last night and loved it too. brandon will go as much as he can. Wednesday will also be Ariannas hip hop class, that starts next week
And of course we continue swimming lesson tonight :D
Yes, BUSY!
I plan on continuing to let the kids do things they want to try. Even though a new baby coming will make it tougher, I dont want to sit around. this will make me active!
But, boy I have to say its not cheap!! everything costs something, plus all the extras! (ice skates, helmet, snow pants etc)
but, to us its worth it...:D

School

The kids are adjusting well.
Arianna is doing just fine in all day school.
She is in her permanent class now. The first couple days they were put alphabetically.
Now, they have shuffled them around. there is 2 grade one classes.
I am a little disappointed that she ended up being one of the few afternoon kindergarteners left in her class. All her friends but one went to the other class.
I know they do it by needs of the students and many factors, but it's a bit sad for her.
She seems ok, except she did want to be with her best friend, Jonah. I even requested it, but they did not make it happen.
Well, she will be making a lot of new friends, and will soon know most of the grade ones from both classes. Kids this young do well. She makes friends easily.
What can you do.....

James is loving school. He has been sitting right up front :) so cute.
We have been walking to and from school. It takes us around 20 mins each way. But I am enjoying the exercise.
Next week we start catechism for Arianna and ice skating and beavers for James.
things are about to get busy!

Back to reality

Our nanny of over a year and a half has moved out.
It is bittersweet as the kids loved her, and she worked very hard.
But, the other part of my is happy to have my house back. To not have someone extra living with us....we can walk around in our underwear again lol.
It was wonderful having her while we did. It enabled me to work as much as I wanted, to gain confidence and experience.
But, now I want to put my kids first and work second. Work will become something I do once in awhile once this next baby is old enough and no longer nursing.
The weeks are sure going by so fast. I still do not want them too!
I am at the stage where the kicks are good and hard and the baby moves all the time...I love it!!
I have my list of baby items I want and need, and have managed to get some great deals on craigslist and baby swap meets. I got a bouncy chair (ocean wonders to match out cradle swing), a bumbo seat with tray (for free!!!) and a baby bjorn with fleece cover :D
I still need a stroller/carseat (we picked out the peg perego pliko 3) and nursing pillow and a few other things.
we are still working on names...brandon suggested a couple boys names, but I am not loving them yet....I think I need to see this baby. It is much harder this time!!
The kids start school tomorrow. Arianna in grade one and James kindergarten.
This means I will have mornings alone !!!!!!!!!!!! wow!!!!
I need to go get their new fall wardrobes out from my closet and pack away some summer stuff. It is that time!
And the rain we have had agrees!
I just spent the weekend with the kids at my parents place. It let them get away with my brother and sister in law to my sister in laws parents place. it was her moms 50th bday.
I hope they had a good time.
I am exhausted. Sleeping in strange places never goes well for me lol....even at my parents place.

This will be the mural and theme for the nursery. The crib set we have matches. It's super cute! this measures 3 feet by 3 feet I believe. Same size as the one I did for Arianna....now I guess James needs one ;)

It is going to be busy!
One more week until back to school!
Arianna will be full days and James mornings.
We also have many activities for the kids starting
Arianna will be in hip hop dance class, catechism and swimming lessons
James will be in ice skating, swimming and beavers.
Our weekdays are busy, but we have fri sat and sun free. I am glad for weekends again!
This will take us to december and then we may need to take a session of due to the babies arrival. The beavers and catechism are year round though...

I am enjoying life back at home. I am loving being all domestic again.
My house is so clean!!
My goal for sept is to start more walking...and 3 times a day back and forth to the school will be great for this :D
Now that I am NOT sick anymore.....at all...yay...I have cut down on my medication and am back to eating well. before I just ate anything I could hold down...and I needed to eat often so I would not puke lol.
I do not expect to lose weight lol...just not gain extra pounds that were creeping on.
Dad is doing well. No new news at this time.
My mom and him are going away this weekend to a 50th birthday. I am so happy for them.
I will be house sitting with the kids at there place....and brandon is back to work

the kids room is being primed. Then ready to paint.
we are doing darker blue bottom walls and the sky light walls will be light blue with clouds....should be nice!

21 weeks

I have not grown much over the last few weeks.
I am thankful!
I seemed to grow so fast, I am glad things slowed and evened out.
my dad even said yesterday that I have not changed at all lol...
baby is getting bigger...just my uterus slowed lol
I feel the baby kick a lot more now...the kids can feel the kicks more and more. they love it!
We have our girls name...secret....
But no boys names.
We have the middle name for a boy, just not the first. Brandon is so picky!
We will not share the names until after birth....cause they do change lol

A Positive

My dad has cancer...yes.
In 4 places.
The good news? It did not start in the pancreas...so it's not as aggressive as having pancreatic cancer (lifespan is 3-6 months)
the cancer he has is less aggressive and slower to grow.
My dads GP says he thinks its more like YEARS for my dad NOT months :D
they think it started in the kidney, from his previous cancer 8 years ago.
I am SO thankful today.
I am thankful for hope today. that God really has helped us out in giving my dad more time.
Granted, I know things can change instantly with cancer. But, I am going on the positive knowing how well my dad is doing.
he will start chemo, 2-4 weeks to even see the cancer clinic, and then they will decide when.
His cancer is not really active at this time, so they may choose to not do anything until he is actually sick.
So even in this terrible summer, I am accepting my dad has cancer and I may only have him for a few years....
but thats years...and that is time to enjoy eachother and continuing to make memories.
Now, lets hope the cancer clinic says the same about dads prognosis....or I will put my foot in my mouth about posting this! lol
But, I am confident right now. And it feels good, so I want to embrace it.

On baby news....we are just about 20 weeks. Half way cooked. And at this time I am in NO hurry to have this pregnancy be over. I enjoy the moving and since I am not sick, it is nice.
I know my sister in law is ready to be done, and I will probably feel the same at 38 weeks....but for now, I am content.
Yes, I am still getting fat lol....but thats ok. I lost the weight before, I WILL do it again.
And come sept. I will be walking back and forth to school 3 times a day. Now thats exercises I am looking forward to.
I bought a cute forest themed crib set....animals I mean,
It has a baby bear, bunny, birds, turtle, owl, catepillar on it I think.
It is a great neutral color combo.
Last night I drew up my mural on paper (and added a deer and squirrel) and I am going to get some particle board to start working on it.
I am excited.
The kids room is getting ready to be painted, so they can move back,
then we set up the nursery in plenty of time!
This is a great way to keep my mind at ease and keep busy...and relax :D

A sad Day

This past month has been rough for my family.
My dad, who is 62, has been dealing with bouts of pancreatitis.
During one hospital stay it was discovered he had lesions on his lung, kidney, pancreas and liver (but he was not told about the liver)
They did a biopsy of the pancreas and told us it was negative for cancer....
he was discharged home saying he had a rare disease and would see a specialist.
then he had another biopsy...not sure why at the time.
this cause another case of pancreatitis that landed him in hospital again...this time we went to a better one!
We were told he had cancer.....and that the previous hospital did not have negative results, they were inconclusive.
so he had another procedure to see the type of cancer it was.
well, today we had the bad news it is inoperable.
He will have chemo to give him time.
it just depends how his body reacts and how he fights.
We are devestated.
I am so sad that I will lost my dad.
we do not know the time we have left...it all depends.
I pray he hangs on, is strong and can fight.
It will be a long road ahead with a very sad ending.

Arianna is 6

We had a party with 4 kids from Arianna's class. It was a hawaiian party. All the girls got the skirt, lei's and coconuts lol. They played games, pinata, and ate lots. It was fun...but loud! lol
I cannot believe she is 6 and ready to go full days in school. She is a smart girl, and ready.
I am doing well. Nothing new really, same old.
My ultrasound looked good. I am due Jan 15, so dates were on. I just grew fast. I think things have slowed down a bit.
I will go for a third trimester ultrasound again. To see more details.
But all my screenings came back negative, so baby is great.
My placenta is posterior, thank goodness. Makes the c-section less complicated. I am sad that I will never experience a regular birth, but my health and baby are more important. It is too risky otherwise. I knew it, it is just sad to me. Oh well. I have had 2, I know what I am in for...a few day hospital stay and longer recovery. Good thing I should have help!
My OB is anticipating my BP will play an issue at the end...I assume this means a bit early on delivery. How early is the question.....
We have had cooler weather...it has been a nice break!
We have moved the kids into the baby room, so we can renovated theirs. Brandon put the new sky lights in today...then we can work on the walls!!! Need to get them all done before we can do the nursery.
Wow almost half way done this pregnancy. It has gone fast.
I am thankful it has been my best one yet!!! I dont get sick anymore...well except for yesterday in the car....lol
I feel better...but the weight keeps packing on...lots of fluid too due to this high BP.
I need to diet LOL.
At least some school there will be LOTS of walking to and from school 3 times a day. it will help me a lot!
Our nanny is done with us as of today. we are letting her live here until december or until she finds another live in job. she will clean once a week for us to make up the extra cost.
It is bittersweet. she has been wonderful. but to be honest I am ready to take back my home :D Go back to my roots as domestic goddess lol....

Baby Three

We had the ultrasound yesterday :D Brandon and kids were able to come and see. The baby was kicking away, moving its arms and mouth open. It was so cute! The kids loved it. I think it makes it more real to them. I had an AWESOME technician, who spent a lot of time with me...and printed all these pics for me...
I will see my OB next week to talk about the scan. But, I think all looked good?!
My growth slowed a bit, so I am sure my dates will be pretty close.

I know most is belly, but I see it in my face too :(

Depressing

somehow I gained 6 pds in the last 2 weeks?! holy sh*t
I was appalled lol.
my ob said I am retaining fluid...sigh, something to again watch.
I dont get how it can be possible. yes my belly is big, but not much else has expanded...that much ;)
yes my butt has a bit lol, but that is a lot.
wow. i really need to start eating lettuce.
he said I am 17 weeks...I am a few days off with my dates.
BUT the ultrasound tomorrow will confirm things for sure.
I hope my uterus us giant with lots of fluid ;) that would explain a lot and make me feel better.
so in 4 months I have gained 15 pds. NO JOKE
I am ok with the boobs ;) as I am back in my "big bras" lol...but I hate the rest.
Today the kids and I went on a nice bike ride...30 mins or so. some hills. enough to make me sweat.
I think the WII fit will be making a comeback...and maybe I should get the sports resort one...to make me want to do more lol.
In sept. when the kids are both in school I will hit the pool.
this is my plan.
I really could not help the weight gain, I mean I was sick...and needed the carbs to settle my tummy lol
but now thats done
I crave chocolate....so I need to exercise lol.

Otherwise babe is well. I feel him or her move a lot. the kids and hubby got to feel a squirm. they love that. it will just become more and more from now on.
I love that feeling.
We were looking for the heartbeat at my OB appt today using the doppler. the baby was kicking while he was trying to poke it lol...so it was hard to catch....my Ob was about to call the baby something nasty for all the wigglying LOL....it was cute.
HR is nice and strong.
BP is doing ok now on the medications, but we watch as I get farther along.
I cant wait to see my baby tomorrow :D
And I better not get the surprise ruined on the sex lol...the tech better not let it slip!!!! I just want to see a healthy baby.

Finally an update

Most of you know of the stress that my family has been going through.
On top of this high risk pregnancy, things have been rough!
In short:

-my dad has been really sick. We are still waiting for him to see a specialist, to find out what will happen long term, but for now he is at home. He is doing well. We are all still on edge, hoping for the best. The one huge positive is the biopsy on the pancreas came back as NOT cancer!! Now we wait to deal with the rest...one day at a time...and a lot of praying :)

-I am DONE work. Not by choice, but by health reasons. The stress of my dad being sick and my high BP made it impossible for me to do my job effectively. I could not imagine working with palliative patients while my dad is ill. And the heavy workload of nursing was not working.
So I am on 15 weeks of sick leave (starting Aug 17, as I had banked time to take first :) ) and will go straight into mat leave. my mat leave will run out a month or so before the baby is a year....SOOOOOO
-I decided to resign from my part time line. When I go back to work, it will be in my own time, and I will work when I want....and it will be VERY casually.
I want to be home with my babies again. They come first. I am domestic and belong here....
I LOVE nursing, but I want it to be for me, when I want to do it. AND when the kids dont need me anymore ;) I will have something to go back to!

I am over 15 weeks now, but my uterus says I am 19 or so. lol. Yes, I am big. I am going for an US on august 5 to see why I am SOOOO big.
I have my new OB<> and I will be seeing the clinic too often to make sure baby is ok due to this high bp. So I think I will be busy enough.
AND of course I need to relax :)

The heat here is unbearable lol...it is so humid, 30 degrees feels like 40 lol. Thank goodness for AC, but I still cook...I am a furnace. I am happy I am earlier pregnant for sure lol.

We had to let our nanny go. She will be done the end of august. I am trying to help her find cleaning jobs, and she is looking for another nanny job. I will miss her, she is really a super nanny!

Arianna will be 6 in a couple weeks. I am trying to get ahold of a few school friends to have a little party for her. She is working on her grade one workbook, she is way more focused on school then James...and she loves it. Smart little girl.

My new OB

Because of the issues I am having, I have now become a complicated case.
I have high bp, have started medication which I think is doing me more harm then good!
I am dizzy, throwing up more and shaky.
So my dr. made the decision to send me to an expert.
I can hardly function at times...how can I be a good nurse :s
So next wednesday I will go meet him.
His name is Dr. Price.
I had a male OB for my first 2, and to be honest I was happy to have another.
When I was told the name, I went and googled him.
And I was happy with that I read. He is the Chief of the obstetrics at the hospital I will deliver at. He must be good and experienced :)
he deals with the high risks ones.....thats me.
I hope he is nice and I hope he can make the rest of this pregnancy tolerable for me....
and figure out what is wrong with my body! My heart is still having palpatations....my dr thought the BP med would help but so far no.
Today has been a good day. No getting sick.
I am splitting my BP med in half and taking it twice a day...maybe that is the trick.
So we will see how next week goes....and how the next couple days go.
I am so drugged up now it seems unsafe at times...I am in a cloud! I may need to take a break for work....:s I hope not, but we will see.

First Prenatal

I had my first official weigh in and fun stuff done today.
I wont even go there regarding my weight...it is sickening how big my belly is.
So, my uterus is measuring at 16 weeks when I am 12. Yup 4 weeks bigger then it should be! Umm that explains the size of this belly!!
It took the Dr 20 mins to find a heartbeat...I was freaking...
it was because the baby was much higher then suspected...once again large uterus equals room to hide.
the heartbeat is nice and strong :D
bad news?
My pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) or high blood pressure has returned. After 3 readings the lowest it was , was 137./102
SO off to be referred to an OBGYN.
AND I need to be on medication to try and lower my blood pressure. I go back in 2 weeks to see how it is.
SO another complicated pregnancy, with a csection and if my BP remains high and earlier baby.
so we will take it week by week and see.
I need to relax and nursing may not be letting me....we will have to see.
So I am 12 weeks tomorrow.
I am praying I feel better, as I need exercise. I think I gained 3 pds alone from all the eating out we did this last week!! No joke, I can burn some fat off thats for sure!!!!!!

3 months

I am just about at the 3 month mark. Thank goodness. I am hoping for some relief!
I look at this picture and am shocked at how big that belly is getting already.
It still depresses me, but at some point I just have to let go lol.
Well, of that thought, but not of me!
Brandon bought my that lovely dress yesterday as well as a maternity bathing suit. I found it at swimco as I hated the ones from the maternity store. It cost twice as much but did not make me feel like a whale! lol.
So this summer the kids and I will be spending more time at the pool. I really need to start exercising now before its too late. Here is hoping the vomitting stops!
I need to do some toning and lose a coupe fat pounds I gained over this last couple weeks. We had my mother in law and niece here, we were out a lot, which involved too much eating out!!!
We had a wonderful visit though!
Back to work for me tomorrow.
I am headed for my first prenatal visit. lets start the weighing, poking, prodding and hopefully hearing the baby.
we are still searching for baby names. I heard one boy name I liked last night from my mother in law. A family name...so we will see :)
well off to get cleaned up for the drs!

Not Liking this

So I worked so hard to lose 30 pds. I thought I looked great, and I felt great.
And now, 10 weeks into this pregnancy I have gained over 5 pds in my belly and boobs.
My uterus tends to grow big, it always did. With the other kids I measured 4 weeks at least ahead.
So why I am surprised.
But, I am having a hard time dealing with the fat look.
It does not look like I am pregnant, it looks like I am fat.
None of my clothes fit, my scrubs are tight (good thing I kept the ones from pre-weight loss)
I bought a few mat. dresses and thats all I have. Of course the weather cooled off, not good for summer dresses.
I do not have extra money to spend at this time on clothes.
I am trying to borrow some off my best friend.
All my mat clothes are large and xl. I am a med. now. I am not depressing myself further by wearing those!!!!
Ugh.
I know I am growing a baby, but I still feel like I am getting too big too fast.
I am still sick. I am ok during the day, when I work, but evening kills me.
I have no energy still and can sleep all the time.
so tell me, how can i get myself to exercise when I want to puke or sleep lol.
I keep telling myself in 2 weeks when I hit trimester 2, things may ease off.
then I can start exercising to lose some of the pudge lol.
I pray this happens.
I do not want to gain as much as I did with arianna.
I eat small meals, often. as if I let my stomach get empty I will start throwing up my own saliva.
It is a lose lose situation for me. SIGH
this is a real pity post for me.
I am REALLY having a hard time gaining this weight :(
I do not know how to deal. It just makes me cry.

Ok enough of that.
I am so proud of my little Arianna.
She passed her swimming class again. She is in the last level for preschool.
She can swim laps, front stroke and back stroke. She can dive. It is amazing to how much her confidence shot up. she can be in deep water now, and swim free!!! No need to worry. It is wonderful.

We are preparing for the visit of my mother in law and niece Lara.
They will be with us for over a week.
The kids are so excited.
We have many fun things planned, including playland, waterslides, beach, canada day parade and fair, and more!
I have 6 days off, I just work the friday. So it will be a nice break for all of us.

I am counting down until I no longer have to follow a schedule. I am tired! I think the LATEST I will go off on Mat leave will be Dec 1. But the physical demand of my job may make that earlier.
I was asked to start working in Day surgery. But, I am not sure I want to start a new unit at this time. I have some shifts booked for Sept. so I need to decide. It is easier there, but considering I may not work often after mat. leave and I do not have many months left at work now, is there a point?! I just dont know.....

Well, its ariannas year end party at school today. We are bringing veggies and dip.
she has 3 days left until grade one! wow....
and my baby james will be in kindergarten! :(
Good thing I have a baby coming to be home with me lol.

I am the sickest pregnant person out there, and yet I am choosing to keep on having babies lol.
I guess in the end it must be worth it ;)
But, boy do I suffer.
I am on the maximum dose of the pregnancy drug for vomitting. thats 8 pills a day. The cost of these things is insane. Thank goodness we get 100% coverage.
I still think I am doing pretty well compared to the last 2. With them, I threw up day and night....and was taking only 4 pills a day (no one told me I could take more !!)
This time, I almost always lose my dinner lol. I get sickest in the afternoon and evening. Every day. No fail.
I have only had morning sickness a few times.
I am really trying to do what I can to manage, as this time I am working.
I have some better days. and then some really bad ones.
Like last night. I could not keep anything down, and even my saliva was making me puke LOL.
Yes, it was bad.
I passed out just after 8pm thank goodness.
Today is ok so far again. I managed breakfast. But I know, afternoon hits and I feel the nausea. Sigh.
3 more weeks until the first trimester ends. I pray I get some relief!
I really want to keep working. its good for me.
I have gained a few pounds already! EEEK.
I am paranoid about getting fat again after losing all the weight before.
I know its in my belly and boobs right now hehe.
As soon as I get some energy back I need to start walking. Then it will be prenatal classes I think. no need to gain too much with this one. I am not sitting at home!

So yes, that is what is going on here. the kids are excited. James told me my belly was growing and soon I am going to be fat...LOL nice kid.
I have NO idea what I think this one is....And I love the fact I am not going to find out. it is making this experience fun.

I think we will be keeping it all a secret...names included :D

My first instinct says girl. As I think I was more evening sick with Arianna. But who knows. I think is my ass and thighs grow it is a girl LOL.
Brandon wants another boy.
I have no preference. Boy would be nice for James....and then Arianna can move into her own room eventually.

Rose will be done with us when the baby is born.
And things are not 100% but, I do not think I will be going back to my line at work.
Things for me have not been the way I want them.
My kids and family have not always been number one. And that bugs me.
For example. I had to miss Ariannas sports day cause of work. I hate that.
I want it to be that I work when I want...and my kids always come first.
So, I think we will be making some changes.
I thnk home is where I will be number one, and work will come second....when its convenient.
The reason I did my nursing was so one day when kids were old, I had something to go back to. It turned into more work then I had anticipated, for many reasons, but we are going to fix it.
No regrets for the last year and a half as I gained many skills and confidence as a nurse. Now I can feel comfortable working occasionaly.
Besides, I do not want someone else seeing this new baby walk for the first time...I was there for the first 2, and I will be for this one.....

I have not announced it publicly (meaning facebook and work lol) but I figure my faithful blog readers could be let in on my secret....and then I have a reason to start blogging again.
I can complain to you how crappy I feel and whats going on :D

Meet baby bean he or she is 6-7 weeks old and has a good strong heartbeat.
He or she will be arriving most likely in January...or december if he or she is like james and comes weeks early!
baby bean will be a surprise....our first one!
We found out the sex of the last two. Now having one of each, I am wanting the surprise. I am excited about it.

so if you are a faithful blog reader, or just happen to stumble upon this, I prefer not to facebook it yet. I know I am early and bad things can happen.
BUT, I am so positive about baby bean.

Almost one year ago

It was May when I started my bootcamp sessions.
I have done 6 months...working on 7. They were not all together, I took a 5 month break.
I went and found my very first pamphlet with my measurements on it.
You know, when I look at myself in the mirror I see changes, but I still feel like I am still bigger like before.
But, now I cannot believe I lost that many inches lol.
OR can I believe thats how big things were lol
2 kids in 2 years will do that to you...
I am so proud of how far I have come, and will continue on as far as I can go....
I just won't stress about it.
I find the harder you try, the less likely it is you will lose the weight.
I am only going 2-3 days a week.
I did the testing class monday and got measured. I am impresses how well my endurance and strength held up lol.
I even beat my run time by 30 secs!!! wow.
I am super sore today lol
I am planning on going this morning, if Brandon is awake in time ;)

Anyways I wanted to share my inches lost.

Richt Bicep - 2.5 inches
Chest - 5 i nches (sorry brandon lol)
Abdomen - 5 inches
Hips - 6.5 inches
Right Thigh - 4 inches
Calf - 1.5 (my calfs were always skinny lol)

So overall thats 25 inches and counting :) Not bad!!!

So I guess I really do look different in the mirror and its only my distorted image of myself thats the problem lol.
Now time to look for a before and after pic....if I have any....not many pics taken of me back then.

I will have been off this week. I cannot remember the last time I was off that many!
It has been nice, as I did have one rough day on sunday. A break is always good when you feel so emotionally drained.
But, the bank really can't afford it. I think some OT is in order for this coming week lol.
We have had some really nice warm sunny days here. It hit 22 the other day, I got my first hint of pink on my skin lol.
I keep wanting to change the kids clothes into all summer....but I am sure we will hot the cool rainy spring days before that happens.
I got my hair done....a bit blonder. I am slowly lightening it up as it gets closer to summer.
I had a break for bootcamp, as my schedule and illness did not allow me to make last session. But, back again on monday. I will only be able to make it 2 to 3 times a week, but I figure that is good enough. The hour is killer lol.

One more interesting thing, Brandon and I are registering to take Punjabi classes at the local univeristy. I want to so I can understand my patients, as we get many that do not speak english and speak punjabi. Brandon, well I am not sure why he wants to..besides to talk to all the grandpas that drop off their grandkids to school with Arianna.... :D

We start April 28th. Its 12 weeks, 2 hrs a week. Then there is a level 2.
I am sure it is going to be VERY hard...lol
Can you imagine us speaking it ....haha makes me laugh.
I just want to understand it more then speak it ;)

Flu

At work her have a flu outbreak right now. It is a respiratory one, that is wreaking havoc on the elderly. We have a few rooms that are isolated. That means gown, glove and mask to enter. And the rest of our unit is closed. We are discharging patients that are ready, but we are not admitting new patients. It has been a week so far. they are supposed to reassess on the 31st, but I think we need longer!
So good thing I got my flu shot. The staff that didn't needed to get a prescrption of tamiflu, that costs $55 for 10 days. yikes lol.

I just did 4 days shifts and I am TIRED.
I started to get a sore throat. Boy, it felt good last night to walk out of the hospital and take a nice deep breath of fresh air!!

I am off for a few days at least.
Ariannas teacher wants me to come in a teach them about handwashing.

Arianna's Champs Conference Weekend

Here are a few pictures from our hotel weekend away. It was wonderful. One picture is of Arianna and her friend Harleen, and the other is with her buddy Spencer. She just loves him like an uncle. His hand is like hers, he is 18 and about to graduate high school. :D We plan on keeping in touch and have him help hom do things...like teach her to tie her shoes. :)

To my hubby Brandon. Today he is 34. wow. As he gets older, that means I am getting closer to 30 myself. eeeek lol
I spoiled him with a PS3. He has been wanting one, so I have been saving a bit of money from work to make it happen. After all his hard work on the house he deserves something to distract him.
I am also taking him for dinner at a place in Vancouver.

Then I am back to work for 4 day shifts. That will be draining!!!

This past weekend Arianna and I went to Vancouver and stayed at this fabulous hotel right on the ocean. Arianna had her yearly champs conference. She got to see all her friends. It us great as she gets older, to be able to see other people like her, and how they do things...like tying shoes for example.
It was a great weekend...with too much food.
I am really trying to fast this week lol. I am sure I gained a few pds lol. It was so worth it :D

I am not in bootcamp this session. With the first week being sooo sick, being away and this weeks work schedule it does not leave me much time!
So I am starting next session in a couple weeks. The weather will be nicer too, I loved it in the summer....
I have not lost any more weight. Just holding steady. And thats ok. I have a few months to lose the last few. I dont want to put too much pressure on myself. Then it will consume me, and NOT happen.

We are headed to swimming lessons soon. Better run. I have pics from the conference to post. Will do that later :D

Warning this is not a pretty word ;)

C. difficile, or Clostridium difficile, is a kind of bacteria that upsets the normal balance of healthy bacteria in the digestive system, causing diarrhea. It often affects people who have been taking antibiotics, especially "broad spectrum" ones that kill a wide variety of bacteria.

We have way too much of this at the hospital. As soon as we know a patient has it, they are put on isolation...where we have to gown and glove if we will come in contact with them.
It is very contagious!!

The amount these people go number 2 is insane! And its uncontrollable....
I would go into the details on what its like, but just hope if you stay in the hospital you never get it lol.
I am tired of the smell. Tired of the clean up! lol

It is something people get AFTER then come into the hospital. How sad is that.
those darn antibiotics are good to heal one thing...but cause this!!

On another note, the weather here is more spring like. It is so nice. I think I am done with winter if its not going to snow!
The kids are starting to go and play in the backyard, I cannot wait for the summer when we kick them out all day :D

I am been feeling a bit off the last few days. I think its a tummy bug. I am lucky to eat one meal a day....
I am sure I have lost a few pounds. Not the good way, but oh well.
Bootcamp starts again for me monday.
I am really looking forward to finishing off these last few pds.
Brandon is on vacation for a couple weeks. Not me, I think I work 9 of those days. Ah well. He will be busy renovating the house anyways.

Sunny Day

It was a beautful day here today. I had the day off, so I decided it was time to take my little man for a haircut. No point in keeping it long, as the curls are gone...long gone. sigh.

And where did my blue eyed boy go? His eyes keep changing. With the hazel in the middle now, the eyes look green!

So we went the the salon I get my hair done at. Then we headed to pick up a few groceries and I wanted a new pair of dress pants.

And I am sooo excited. I am officially a size 7/8! The 9/10 is TOOOOOO BIGGGGGG

I have been waiting for this day for SO long.

Granted, I am still softer in the middle, and have stretch marks....but I am at the size I was before kids.

I now need to work on toning up. That is what bootcamp is for now. A few extra pounds are ok to lose in my softer areas ;) but its time to tighten up lol.

Today is a great day. I feel so good!

I am getting ready to wear that summer bikini!!!!!

Workload

Some days I get the pleasure of being something called "workload" at work....I am joking about the pleasure part.
I really do not enjoy being this.
This means, I am not on a team, I do not have specific patients...
I just help...answer bells....do what is asked of me.
Nice part of it? NO meds and NO charting. You most always leave on time :D

So today, that was me.
I was a nurse (did give a med and did LOTS of care AND another catheter), a porter (had to take one pt to xray and bring another one up from ER) and a unit clerk (entered orders).

To me, it can be boring and heavy work. I do not like that. I would rather have an assignment.

As for the catheter...it was female....I am so good I had it in by the time the other nurse came in to help me ;) oh yeah, catheter queen shines again ;)

People keep postings these notes on facebook, about random things people may not know about them. So, I figure I will share the same :D

I am considering finishing my RN. Once I am done kids that is. I really see myself working in labor and delivery one day. It is my dream.
I have a newly pierced nose and belly. (Belly has been done a couple times before). If there was more "girly" piercings to get done, I would get them. No tattoos...yet lol. I need to be REALLY sure before that happens...and I do not know if I ever will.
I have lost 30 pds since last may. I stopped exercising in Sept. and only gained 3 pds back. I am 149pds now, only 9 away from my goal. There, I said my weight. As of this morning that is what it is. AND I am proud to say I am ten pounds LESS then hubby. YAY!
I am trying for baby number 3. No luck since we miscarried in October. I have had 2 previous c-sections and am going to do whatever I can (safely) to not have one. Once I am pregnant am going to see a midwife and find an OB that is supportive. If its not safe, then ok...but I have heard many people successful. I wont give up until told otherwise.
I suffer with sciatic pain daily in my left leg. Ever since being pregnant with James. I have gone to see drs. but nothing was found to help me. It's terrible to have to deal with. The pain shoots from my bum, down my leg.
I do not like alcohol. I drink the occasional fruity drink, but otherwise the taste I do not enjoy lol. Well, once I have a few they go down easy ;)
I still cook almost all meals at home. If I am not working an evening, I will be making dinner. I love to cook, and like to think I am good at it. I do not believe in recipes, I mostly get inspiration off cooking shows.
I love to paint, although this has not happened the last couple of years. I am determined to finish Arianna mural for the time we paint the kids room. Soon enough she will be too old for her enchanted forest mural ;)
I love make-up. I will not leave the house without it. And Brandon is the only one who will see me without it, and even then I am embarrassed lol.
I am a big flirt (did you know?). Hey, it gets me free coffee!! (right honey?!) lol...hey, at least I am honest and hubby knew what he was getting into when he married me ;)
I was born 4 weeks early. After a car accident, I had an xray on my back and they found one of my vertebrae had never closed all the way. I get back pain a lot from it. I use a heating pad daily.
I have very poor circulation in my feet. You will never catch me without socks and slippers on, or my feet freeze!!!

catheterization. I am sure most know what this is....and some have experienced it.
Somehow, I work I do one of two things to people. lol I make there blood pressure LOW or make them retain urine so they need a catheter.
Well, I don't really cause it, but it sure happens often.

The last few shifts I have worked this has been the case. Of course things like this get reported to the dr. (called a hospitalist) who comes to see all the patients in the unit. So back and forth I go talking to Dr. H. all day.
I kinda feel like a bother.....updating her, and asking what to do and stuff....
anyways, I said to Dr H. "soon enough you are going to see me coming and say, who has low BP or needs a catheter?"
And you know what she said back?
she said "you are never bothering me. All this tells me is that you are good at your job, and pay attention to details"
Wow. that made my day!
It is true. Things like people retaining urine, are things people sometimes miss. I have caught this 3 times lately :)

So here is a term for today....

In urinary catheterization, a plastic tube known as a urinary catheter (such as a Foley) is inserted into a patient's bladder via their urethra (where you pee out of lol ;) ). A balloon located at the end of the catheter is usually inflated with sterile water to prevent the catheter from slipping out once it has reached the bladder.

I figure I may as well add this one, as it's how I determine if someone is retaining urine.

BladderScan instrument uses V-mode ultrasound technology to create a three-dimensional image of the bladder and calculate volume based on this image. . A microprocessor within the instrument automatically calculates and displays bladder volume; the operator simply applies ultrasound coupling medium (ultrasonic gel), aims the scanhead, and initiates the scan. Noninvasive bladder volume measurement via the V-mode BladderScan is quick, easy, and very specific for determining elevated PVR. (PVR measures what is left in the bladder after a patient attempts to empty the bladder)

We have a bladder scan on the unit, and we use it....it is fun :)

So there is my lesson today....not a very fun one for the person who needs the catheter, but it's necessary.

Oh, and if you had close to litre of urine in YOUR bladder, that you could not empty, would you not want relief? ;)

Being a nurse is NOT a glamourous job at all. Even the patients make comments about how they don't know how we can do our jobs.
It gets dirty! lol
But, remember I chose to do this, knowing what it involved.
So, I thought I would teach you some nursing lingo, some of the things I do on a daily basis, or interesting things I come across during my shifts at the hospital.

WARNING...some of the things I share may be graphic ;)

So the first thing I have to share with you is a term called Disimpaction. Know what that means??

Removal of feces (poop lol) usually manually, in fecal impaction.

Yup, that is right. I had to do this the other day. See, a dirty job! It involves a double gloved hand (although I just use one finger lol) and some lube ;)

Now, you think it is bad for me, think of the patient!!!

Thats what I did today.

I woke up with a headache, I think from sleeping wrong....and cramps (sniff sniff) :(

So having rose here with the kids, and not being called into work I decided to head across the border. I had some amercian cash left.

I decided to look for some scrub stores, and I found a couple.

I am known at work for my fabulous scrubs. I would win best dress nurse I tell ya ;)

I like to look good when I work hehe.

Once I had lost all the weight, and won the $$ back I treated myself and bought a bunch of new ones...and they were all stylish :) no cheaping out! hehe

So today, I found a couple places that sold the brands I loves AND cheaper :)

I think I will have to do a picture in every outfit I have and post them. Then you can see how cute I look hahahaha.

Then I stopped at the mall in town. There are many stores I love there, ones not in canada.

I have to say I love shopping....and I am SO good at it lol

I really just come across the best deals. It amazes me.

My favorite kids store is gymboree. I LOVE their clothes BUT they are pricey. They do have good sales when you are lucky to come across them.

I really dont mind spending the extra money, as I swear by the quality. I have never had a shirt wear out...or a stain not come out.

And of course not being done having babies, they will make good hand me downs :)

SO in the mall, I walk to the store and they have 2 racks outside marked $4.99 and under. I was in HEAVEN. The original prices of the stuff was $24 to $40 USD. wow.

So I was able to get an entire line of shirts, a dress, and shorts for Arianna in size 6. Maybe 15 pieces...(they sell there clothing in lines, everything coodinates) and one pair of jeans for james lol. it was mostly girl stuff.

I mean, I cannot get that good of deals even at walmart lol.

That was ONE DEAL I was not walking away from.

I shop a year in advance. I am going to post a picture that shows you my grow-into closet. this houses my spring, summer and fall clothes for this year...yup all year. I have size5/6 for arianna in there and 4/5 for James.

shopping off season is the best :D

SOOOO someone, someday is going to jump for joy (and be soooo lucky) when they inherit my hand-me-downs. just checkout gymboree.com and see how cute it is. almost all the kids clothes are from there...and I get them for amazing prices...deals even walmart can't beat ;)

The hour before bed

Is a very long hour...
the kids are in their room...running...and screaming....where do they get the energy?
I know its because they are tired, but still. It really makes them hard to handle lol.

Today I took them shopping. Arianna has a science experiment to prepare for. She has to create something that will keep an egg that is being dropped from a ladder from cracking. get that? lol
It has to be less then 30cm all around. The teacher will drop an egg from a ladder into it, so whatever it contains must be soft in order to keep the egg from smashing.
So today Arianna wanted to go look for some soft things. We headed to the dollar store. This is that she picked out:
bath squishy sponge things lol (no idea the name for them)
some soft foam make up applicators (the triangle ones)
some cotton balls
and some pom pom craft balls.

There we have it, we will see what she creates...and if the egg lasts ;)

After that, we headed to the movies. we have a $3 theatre close to home. Cannot beat that! And if they are good, they get the $3.99 kids popcorn combo. Today we saw the tale of despereaux. It was cute, and the kids liked it :) I love cheap, fun things to do in order to entertain the kids :)

I have been off the last 3 days, and so has Rose (nanny). It has been nice.
Rose has been with us almost a year now, and she will be done with us in december. Depending on when I get pregnant will determine how fast we move on getting another nanny. We are looking into sponsoring Roses Niece. As long as I continue to work, we will need a nanny. I am lucky my job pays well enough, that I can pay for it and my loan. phew. lol.
With James starting kindergarten we will be walking back and forth to the school 3 times a day...how is one to work around that haha. Ahhh the luxury of having a nanny to help :) The best thing we ever did for sure!!!!!!

I am back to work tomorrow. I work 2 days then have a couple off. We are getting a new gas fireplace this week. I am excited. It is in our TV room, cant wait to be cozy!!!!

well, not really, but it's how I feel...aand that is blonde :)

I am slowly making my way back to lighter hair. After that black incident it has taken a long time. I figure it will be around a year later that I will be back to "normal".

Summer just brings out the blonde in me...

I got some blonde put in yesterday. Its a process thats for sure :)

I figure one more set of highlights and I will be surely sunkissed :)

I registered James for kindergarten. I cannot believe in a few months both my kids will be in school. wow.

He is excited to go. And he is on par with Arianna. He can do everything she can. I guess thats the bonus is having kids 14 months apart. He learns everything from her, and wants to do things just like her.

Work is going great. I still LOVE it. this 8 hr part time line has be wonderful. If I stay any extra time, its overtime. which I love. I am banking it for days OFF. yay.

I will soon get my benefits, which when needed, will give me mat pay at 78% for some of the time. cant beat that!!!!

still trying yes. no luck with that so far. I guess it takes time after a miscarriage to get your body back. I would love for it to happen soon (only for the huge age gap) but I am also happy to just let it happen and not TRY ( no calculations or temps lol)

A friend from work is coming over tonight for a movie night. kids will be pooped as they were up late last night and early today. We will go have some dinner then watch something girly I am sure :)

Coffee

Coffee is a must have for me these days. For one thing I am NOT a morning person, never have been. If I have to wake up before 7am I need something to help get me going.
As most my shifts are 7-3, this has me waking up at 6am. Yuck. I always swing through the timmys on my way for a hot cup of coffee.
The hospital has a tiny little coffee shop. It has a good creme caramel coffee.
One of my buddies at work always buys me coffee. He is so nice.
So, the other day he left 5 mins ahead of me for break. Asks me if I want coffee. I say sure!
When I am about to go to break my other friend Les asks me to go to the coffee shop with him for a coffee. I say oh, actually my personal assistant has already gone to get me one :)

I am so good at the female one, I tell ya, I always get it on the first shot...hehe
Something to be proud of in the nursing world.
As you know, the female anatomy is quite complex ;)

I am really enjoying my 8 hr line.
Its so busy the day goes so fast.
I love going to work. It is a chance for me to socialize with coworkers (I have made GREAT friends), have some me time doing something I am passionate about, and being able to make a difference.

Nursing may be a dirty job...literally...but it is rewarding.

I have seen many deaths since starting at Delta, I am really shocked at the number actually, but it is no longer something that leaves me an emotional wreck.
I had a HARD time the first few...I mean I would cry just as much as the family.
But now, I have learned to deal with the emotions in a different way.
It will always be sad, but my job more importantly is to support the family. And I feel I have grown in a way that I am able to do that. I am stronger.
I always say a prayer for the person who has passed....
What makes it easier, is most the time the person is reaching the 90s or older! And I grew to know them over the time at the hospital. And most lead fulfilling lives. I am happy knowing life was good to them, and they no longer need to be here and suffer.

Ok enough on that....I just wanted to share that this is one area I have really grown in as a nurse.

I love my job and would not trade it for the world....
But, being a mother comes first. And if my family needs me I am here.
When a coworker called in sick today as he daughter was injured at school. She felt bad, and I just said to her. Family comes first. And she said OK. She knew it too, but its nice to hear it from someone else.

I have been thinking more and more about one day finishing my RN. Maybe its been the praise I get at work from other RNs telling my how good I would be lol....
But, I think if I do, it would be to work in maternity.
We will think about that once all the babies are done.

I know a few other friends who are pregnant.
Due around the time I was.
More lately, my heart is aching. I really wish it didnt happen.
I really want to be pregnant.
The age gap is big already...and getting bigger :( sigh.

Well, time to get the kids ready for bed.
I have a few days off now.
And Alyson, Brandon and I are headed to the Vault friday evening. Thank you :o)

SO I thought I would share my nightly style of bangs...and my belly ring hehe..oh and the nose which is harder to see. Do I look younger with the bangs? Its nice to know I can have them if I need a change ;) AND yes...I have stretch marks...ahhh the marks of motherhood ;)

snow on christmas day....at my parents...and this was not the end of it lol

Lack of blogging has been due to the crappy few months around here lol.

At least for now, we are all almost healthy.

Christmas came and went...and for some reason it just didn't feel the same.

Brandon was working most of it...and we got covered in a few feet of snow, which left many stranded at home.

I can say I am really ready to begin a new year. The end of this one has been rough.

Its been over 2 months since I miscarried. And I still think about it. And I really wish it would be easy to get pregnant again.

I can admit I am jealous of the people who are pregnant now, due around the same time I was supposed to me...wondering why it worked for them and not me...sigh.

I am thinking of heading back to bootcamp in the new year as well. I am FINALLY in a normal weight and BMI. yay me lol. But in 10 more pounds I will be skinny ;) haha

I wear a medium well now, but I want to be bikini ready :)

that is if I can tan the stretch marks to be less noticeable lol.

This is the one thing that really makes me feel good. How far I came losing weight and keeping it off.

WELL mostly. I think 2 pounds crept back over christmas, but it was SO worth it and I AM OK WITH IT lol.

I start my new part time line at delta hospital on Jan 1. I will be working 8 hr shifts. yay! and almost all 7-3. I am excited about that....to be a permanent staff member.

Although, I think brandon wants me to stay at home again ;) I have been spoiling him with cooking and baking....he remembers the old days haha.

well that is all I have to say for now.

On to 2009 and pray for a better year :)

Not if James keeps getting sick.
This time it was a cold gone wrong, giving him croup, and constricting his airways.
Yup, we were at the hospital AGAIN. This time for nebulizers (face mask that gives medications that look like smoke) James was not a fan.
Of course any tubes he sees he is going to scream....nightmares about the NG tube still I assume.
After a good dose of steroids, he seems ok. Just the cold now.
But, I tell ya we may as well rent a room at the hospital.
sigh.

what else can I tell ya?!
oh yes, I got my belly button re-pierced...and my nose.
crazy?! maybe, but I like.
no tattoos for me, just these :)
And they look good ;) even hubby agress.

work is work...still love it. but the night shifts kill me.
maybe Jan. I will have a nice part time 8 hr line. I should know tomorrow!!! yay!

and the biggest news? brandon bought me a new car for christmas.
it was supposed to be a suprise, but the original deal he made feel through, so he had no choice but to tell me, as the van needed to go back.
So we got to go together and pick one. we opted out of a domestic and went import.
I am getting a mazda 5 gt in stormy blue. its so nice.
it seats 6, has a nice sun roof and is good on gas.
it is way smaller then the van, but still has enough room.
I am excited. It is sitting on a boat now, headed to the port I believe. Should be here in a day or two I guess.

The kids are doing well. Arianna had a couple days of bad behavior at school but seems to be corrected. thank goodness! And you know James' story lately lol.
they are obsessed with christmas music.
I bought them the little peoples christmas cd, and they listen to it ALL day.
it has all the common christmas songs. so they are learning.
It has been great, they have been playing so nice and spending a lot of time in their room ;)
what am I going to do when christmas is over?! lol

Here I am just a couple days away from the big 28....and I feel great :)

Since May I have lost almost 30 pounds...yes thats right.

I was around 177 when I started bootcamp...and was a size 12...

I am now 147 pds and am a size 9; almost 8...

I feel wonderful about myself again :)

I still want to lose a bit more, but am in no rush. I am going to enjoy my holiday season after the stress of the last couple months.

between the miscarriage and James in hospital for 10 days, I need time to relax.

I treated myself to a brand new pair of lululemon pants (size 6 even !) they are expensive, but well deserved hehe.

Sorry for the lack of updating...but as you know James being in hospital took my time.

I am not going to post about it on here...as I have enough notes about it on facebook.

We are looking forward to a nice holiday season. Almost time to put the tree up (rule is after my bday but it will be Dec 1 i think )

I am most likely going to be getting a part time line at the hospital. It will give me between 9-11 shifts a month, ALL 8 hours, and 90% 7-3 shifts. CANT BEAT THAT. Nursing now a days is almost all 12 hrs. Days nights...

so if I get this...minimal nights.

It will be PERFECT. AND it will give me benefits which will include maternity top-ups :) for when the time happens. I will get closer to my regular wage while on mat leave! cant beat that!!!

He has been having issues with his tummy for about 6 weeks or so. He will randomly throw up. He had issues with going to the bathroom too. I took him to the Dr. and they said its normal for some kids to puke...so I left it.
When we got back from vacation it had gotten worse. He then got a cold and fever. Once he was better from that, he continued to get sick and say he had an ouchy tummy. We have had 3 pukes in the van..not fun.
So I take him to the dr. and he sends us to childrens hospital. What a waste of time, as they are referring us to a pediatrician. I guess it will take some time to watch him and figure out what is wrong. It can be many things that will need to be ruled out if it continues. Sigh. A long process.
Poor guy. Otherwise he is super healthy the Dr says. :)

I didn't update after vacation. there would be too much to say! lol

And I have decided I am a forever cruiser now, and we will be planning another for the summer hopefully. The kids LOVED it...and so did we. It just needs to be 2 weeks from now on :) We are looking at a hawaii one :)

I am still working a lot. I am loving delta, and am hoping to get a part time 8hr line soon. That will give me 2 shifts a week. It is hard to find 8hr ones in nursing too so I want to grab it while I can...plus the bonus of maternity benefit top ups.

Its been one month since the miscarriage. I am hoping things go back to normal soon for my body.
My best friend just had a baby 5 days ago..I am so jealous lol. He is a little handful but I still want one :)
